More awesomeness from 2nd grade artists
Alivia, Celeste, Finnegan - 2nd grade, September 2016

Inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe, second grade artists looked closely and painted a natural object very large, filling the whole 18 x 18" paper, to make it important and allow the viewer to see it the way they do.

Amelia's Stunning Sunset (2nd grade)

Tuesday, April 5, 2016

Year after year, this remains one of my all time favorite projects. The results this year are more stunning than ever and they are filled with very personal meaning. Each third grade student was asked to make a piece of art about something in the world that they would like to change. These five wonderful artworks are all about environmental problems, pollution, loss of habitat or extinction.

Our work at the CCSD Youth Art Month - so much good work, so little space. I'm always blown away at the quality of work I have to choose from and am proud of all of my art students.

A few more amazing jungle landscapes . . .

Adelaide, Hannah L, Izzy, Jadstin, Kaleb, Max, Sophia H - Third Grade Artists, October 2015

A lot of magic happens in here - sometimes the students' work is just so wonderful I can't believe it. There were so many of these jungle paintings by 3rd grade artists that just blew me away. They are fantastical and  imaginative; and their use of art elements and principles such as balance, space, rhythm and color are informed and sophisticated.
