A few more of my favorites.
First grade, 2013-14

Here are a whole bunch of artworks that I love. And all of these happen to be created by first grade artists. This is one creative crew!

95% of the art show is up and it is very exciting - only to be a fly on the wall on Monday morning when the students arrive. Please come check it out before May 8th. You’ll be glad you did!

Get ready for a bombardment of images! I am passing out all the work that we’ve made this year so students can choose their favorite work for the end-of-the-year art show. So I’m snapping photos left and right of some of my favorite works from the year.

Here is Carl’s Georgia O’Keeffe-inspired flower painting. He referenced a zinnia in a vase on his table, but then of course channeled Ms. O’Keeffe and added his own creative decisions as well. I just love the composition and use of tints and shades of the same colors.

These are from our first grade lesson on architecture. If you look closely, you’ll find arches and keystones, onion domes, balconies, widow’s walks, gargoyles, and many other fun architectural elements. They are wonderfully creative. I just wish they we could actually build them.
